Dedinje – Belgrade’s Luxury Neighbourhood

This affluent neighbourhood is a slow paced urban oasis on the hills of Serbia’s capitol – Belgrade. Its green streets and many parks provide refuge from the hustle and bustle of everyday stress. This is why both royals, diplomats and successful people from Serbia and the world have found or built their home in Dedinje. Thanks to them, and the neighbourhood’s position which is secluded but well connected to other important parts of the city, Dedinje is known as the most elite neighbourhood in Belgrade.

This video will provide you with a guided tour, but for more info be sure to read the full article below:

It will usually take you around 15 minutes to reach both the city centre and New Belgrade, the financial centre of Belgrade, as well as Ada Ciganlija artificial lake which is a very popular destination, especially in the spring and summer.

Belgrade in general is a great place to raise your kids and live a laid back, healthy, and hedonistic lifestyle.

Serbian people are renowned for their sincere and friendly character, which is why you can expect to make a lot of lifelong friends in Serbia. Socialisation is our expertise, and this becomes evident when you take a look at any restaurant or caffe and see people enjoying themselves.

And if there’s one thing that will leave you speechless in Serbia, it’s definitely the food. It doesn’t matter if you eat on the street or in the finest restaurants, the food is flavourful and feeds the soul. If you love to cook you are in for a treat. Most of the produce is organic, brought to Belgrade from the numerous farms in Serbia, and can easily be found in all supermarkets and green markets. Going to the green (farmers) market on Saturday and Sunday is a ritual many enjoy because of the vibrant atmosphere and fresh produce.

If besides healthy eating you enjoy an active lifestyle, you don’t even need to go to the gym (although there are plenty). Dedinje’s green streets and parks will make every jog or stroll a joy. Dedinje even has it’s own Hyde Park, which is a great and large space where you can enjoy the view, the shade of trees and the fresh air.

If you’re up for a swim, rowing, kayaking, bungee jumping, or golf and many other activities, you can visit Belgrade’s artificial lake Ada Ciganlija, which is located 10 minutes away by car. It’s one of the favourite destinations in the city, especially in the summertime when it’s many cafes and night clubs come to life. You can also rent a bike to go around the lake or even take the bike route that goes from the lake, along the Sava river and all the way to the beautiful city centre, Kalemegdan fortress and then the Danube river, Dorćol neighbourhood and the famous Milan Gale Muškatirović sports centre.

You can also go horseback riding from the hippodrome through the nearby Kosutnjak forest on a beautiful and sunny day. And of course, we have to mention soccer, which is extremely popular here. The two biggest Serbian football clubs – Crvena Zvezda and Partizan – both have their stadiums in Dedinje, and besides sports, they host many cultural events.

When it comes to shopping, many shopping centers have been built around the city in the last 15 years. The most popular, and biggest one is Usce. It is located on the riverbanks of the Danube and Sava river, right across from the city centre. There is also Delta City, Big Fashion, Rajiceva, and many others throughout the city.

When it comes to healthcare, Serbian doctors are truly one of the most sought after in the world. There are many excellent private hospitals and health care facilities in Belgrade, and many of them in Dedinje. You will also find pharmacies everywhere you go.

And if you are looking for something to do, Belgrade has numerous cultural, sports, music and other events happening every day of the year. For the full list visit the website of the Tourist Organization of Belgrade.
